TO TREAT ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION

Men with a spinal cord disease or injury may have erectile dysfunction due to the disruption of the nervous circuits involved in erection.

A pair of soft penile implants, inserted in the corpora cavernosa offer the minimal 500 g of pressure resistance needed for successful sexual intercourse.

After sexual intercourse the penis bends easily with underwear and trousers.

TO KEEP SPACE INTO THE CORPORA CAVERNOSA

In case of inflatable penile implant removal for infection or erosion, the insertionof a ZSI 100 CF keeps a space in the corpora cavernosa, which will facilitatethe insertion of a new inflatable penile implant 3 or 6 months later.

Moreover the ZSI 100 CF gets a PVP coating to fight against infection.

TO ALLOW EASIER INTERMITTENT SELF CATHETERISATION

Many patients do not have the dexterity to perform self intermittent catheterisation and this may lead to urethral perforation, especially where apatient has a retracted penis.

The soft penile implant ZSI 100 CF lines up the urethra, making self intermittent catheterisation easier and safer.

TO KEEP THE PENILE SHEATH IN PLACE

Soft penile implants ZSI 100 CF can be useful in keeping external urinary drainage devicesover the penis, especially by allowing their proper placement and reducing the incidence of frequent skin lacerations requiring Foley catheters.

TO TREAT PEYRONIE DESEASE

In the case of Peyronie's disease, the penis presents an abnormal curvature due to the formation of fibrous scar tissue in the corpora cavernosa, which can lead to erectile dysfunction.

ZSI 100 CF is available in three different diameters to suit patients’ corpora cavernosa anatomy: 9mm, 11mm, 13mm.

The surgeon can reduce the length from the distal part and the proximal part, to suit the individual patient’s anatomy. This allow the device to be modified to maximise the patient’s comfort.

The soft implant has been designed to mimic the natural bending of the penis during erection.
This softness also ensures optimum penile comfort in the flaccid position.

ANATOMY

The cylinders of the penile implant are inserted within the corpora cavernosa residing on either side of the penis. No tissue is removed to insert the cylinders. They are place where previously blood would flood and cause the penis to be erect.

The penile implant does not affect the patient capacity to urinate, to ejaculate or neither the natural sensitivity of the penis nor the glans.

FIRST STEP

When kept in trousers and underwear the penis is in flaccid position.

SECOND STEP

When penis is freed from trousers and underwear pressure,
it is semi-erected.

THIRD STEP

With excitation
and natural weak blood flow,
the penis improves its rigidity.

FOURTH STEP

After sexual intercourse, natural blood flow will decrease leading to a semi-erection and flaccid penis.
